As many Team Members head off for family vacations, it is important to remember to take steps to protect your eyes. Below are some quick and easy ways to help you, and your family, protect your eyes:
- Wear sunglasses when outdoors – Sunglasses are not only stylish, but they also can protect your eyes from harmful UV rays from the sun!
- Safety glasses for working – Whether it be working on a barge or cutting grass at home, always take time to wear the appropriate protective gear when the situation calls for it!
- Put a lid on it – Wearing a hat (or a visor) can shield your eyes from UV rays.
- Use goggles if going for a swim – Nothing beats the heat like going for a quick dip in the pool and wearing goggles can prevent the chlorinated water from getting into your eyes.
And if you do not remember when your last vision checkup was, you might want to consider a checkup with your vision specialist. Fortunately, if you are enrolled in Vision insurance with VSP, an annual checkup is free if they accept VSP insurance. Visit www.VSP.com to check if your vision care provider is in-network!
And remember: VSP does not have ID cards. When you need to use the insurance, just tell your provider that coverage is through VSP and give them your SSN. It is that easy!
